Candle smoke curls above the table, and the cards are already laid out. The Soothsayer sits in her carved high-backed chair, crescent moons worked into the wood behind her, a heavy book open in her hands. She doesn’t look up - she already knows why you came.
Her table is draped in a long cloth with tasseled swags, cluttered with the tools of the trade: a stack of tarot cards, a bird skull, a skull crowned with a melting candle, a pentagram plate, potion bottles and a chalice. Beside her, a crystal ball rests on an ornate pedestal, waiting to show what the cards won’t tell.
